Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Larry Thomas has served in the Christian capacity as the Faith United Missionary Baptist Church Pastor for  over 5 years. He has been called to warn Christians and the unbeliever about sin, to encourage all to keep the faith, learn how to live the Christian life, and best of all discover the character of God.

Larry Thomas was born in Gadsden, Alabama. He is the son of Mr. Jack and

Dr. Gertie Mae Lowe, the oldest of four brothers, Roderick, Sidney and Tracy.  He has been a native of Lewisburg, Tennessee for 40 years. Throughout the 40 years in Lewisburg, he has served the community as a family dentist and cosmetic dentist.

During Dr. Thomas’ young adult life, he received a bachelor’s degree from Fisk University and pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.  He continued his education at Meharry Hubbard Medical College and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Dr. Thomas has served as the Sunday School Superintendent, an active member in the Praying Husbands Ministry, and an associate minister at Greater First Baptist Church. Also, Dr. Thomas has served as a missionary in the countries Kenya, Africa and Hyderabad, India.

While under the pastoral leadership of Pastor William Herbert Johnson,

Dr. Thomas was encouraged to become a theological scholar. He attended American Baptist College. He received a degree in theology and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the spring class of 2007. Additionally, in 2015, he graduated from Emmanuel Bible College with a Master of Theology degree.

He is happily married to Patsey Thomas, and has been for 38 years.  Larry and Patsey are the parents of three children, Patrick, Victoria, Samantha and grandparents of Zamaria.

Most importantly, Dr. Larry Thomas loves the Lord and he is so thankful to have such a wonderful God to serve; a God who created him; a God that calls him His child; His own; a God he calls Father; a forgiving God; a God who provides him grace and mercy.

Rev. Dr. Thomas’ Ministerial Testimony is; I will exalt the goodness of God all the days of my life; I have been called to preach and teach Gods holy and divine word; and I am committed to the calling of the Great Commission of Jesus the Christ, Lord and Savior. I believe purely in the doctrine of the Holy Spirit.
